Rug Specifications

This exquisite rug is crafted using hand-spun wool yarn dyed with natural materials. The weft and warp are made of cotton, while the knots are formed using wool threads dyed with traditional root dyeing techniques. For example, the red tones are achieved by boiling wool threads with rose petals, allowing the natural color to be absorbed. As a result, these yarns retain a deep, rich tone that becomes more vibrant with age and use.

The rug is hand-knotted using the Turkish double-knot technique, renowned for its strength and longevity. Compared to Persian knots, this technique ensures a more durable weave and a longer lifespan. With approximately 200,000 individual knots, this rug is a true work of art.

  • Weaving Type: Handwoven
  • Materials: Wool (pile), Cotton (warp & weft)
  • Knot Density: ~200,000 knots, Turkish double-knot
  • Pile Height: 5 mm

Care Instructions

Because this rug is made with naturally dyed wool, no chemical detergents or carpet shampoos should be used. In case of spills, gently blot the area with a paper towel immediately. Then, using a white natural soap (not liquid), lather gently with a clean cloth and wipe the stained area with care.

Quick intervention is essential. If a liquid remains on the rug for too long, the stain may penetrate deep into the warp and become very difficult to remove. For a full cleaning, we strongly recommend using a trusted professional rug cleaner experienced with handwoven wool rugs.
